External cylindrical grinder is a type of cylindrical grinder with a simple structure, easy operation, and adaptability, suitable for grinding inner, outer cylindrical, and conical workpieces. It is suitable for use in workshops with single piece, small batch, and batch production.
The workpiece rotation, outer circular grinding wheel, inner circular grinding wheel, oil pump, and cooling are respectively driven by separate motors. The headstock motor adopts a permanent magnet DC motor to achieve stepless speed change of the workpiece through the motor speed control plate. The longitudinal movement of the machine tool worktable can be achieved by hydraulic stepless rotation or by handwheel rotation. The lateral feed movement of the grinding wheel holder has several forms, including hydraulic acceleration movement, automatic periodic feed, and manual feed.
Safety Operating Procedures for External Grinding Machines:
1. The installation of a new grinding wheel should be done lightly, and a soft cushion with a diameter about one-third smaller than the grinding wheel should be placed on it. Then, gently tap it with a wooden hammer until there is no noise before starting. The operator stands beside the machine and runs it idle for a few minutes without any deviation or vibration before it can be used.
2. The machine tool needs to be cleaned, and before driving, check whether the position of the handle and travel limit block is correct.
3. When the grinding wheel approaches the workpiece, it should be manually operated and carefully observed for any protrusions or indentations on the workpiece.
4. The geometric shape of the center hole of the workpiece used should be checked, and any incorrect outer cylindrical grinder should be corrected in a timely manner. It is not allowed to loosen during the grinding process.
5. When accelerating the use of a flat grinding workbench, pay attention to its endpoint. When the workpiece with a small contact area is not easily attracted by magnetic force, a stopper must be added, and grinding should be stopped when the disk suction weakens.
