A brief analysis of the working accuracy of external grinding machines

Release time:2025-04-09     Visits:31

Excessive temperature can affect the grinding effect of CNC cylindrical grinders. During grinding on a grinder, excessive grinding temperature can cause macroscopic thermal damage such as burns, cracks, or deteriorated layers on the surface of the workpiece, as well as microscopic thermal damage such as high-temperature tempering phase transformation and even secondary quenching phase transformation on the surface. These thermal damages can damage the surface integrity of the workpiece, reducing its surface characteristics such as wear resistance, corrosiveness, and strength.
Secondly, excessively high temperatures may also affect the geometric and shape accuracy of the workpiece. Due to the increase in temperature, the difference in thermal expansion between the workpiece and the tool may lead to an increase in machining errors. In addition, excessive temperature may also cause deformation and wear of various components of the CNC cylindrical grinder, thereby affecting the accuracy and performance of the machine tool.
In order to reduce the impact of temperature on the performance of CNC cylindrical grinders, some cooling measures can be taken, such as using coolant, improving grinding fluid, etc. At the same time, reasonable control of parameters such as grinding speed and feed rate should be implemented to avoid excessive heat generation during grinding.
