Industry standards divide the grinding particles into 41 particle size numbers based on the specifications of high-precision CNC end face cylindrical grinders. The selection of grinding tool particle size can directly affect the roughness and grinding efficiency of the workpiece. Generally speaking, using a coarse-grained grinding wheel has high grinding efficiency, but the surface roughness of the workpiece is poor. When grinding with a fine-grained grinding wheel, the surface roughness of the workpiece is good, but the grinding efficiency is low. In short, under the specified conditions, coarse-grained grinding tools should be used as much as possible to ensure high grinding efficiency.
2、 Hardness of grinding wheel and grinding tool
The hardness of the grinding tool refers to the difficulty level of the surface layer of the abrasive particles falling off during the grinding production and processing of the CNC end face cylindrical grinder.
1. In general, grinding wheels with excessively soft hardness are used to grind workpieces that are too hard, while grinding wheels with higher hardness configurations are used to grind workpieces that are too soft.
2. When grinding, if the contact area between the workpiece and the grinding tool is large or the cutting speed is high, the manufacturer should choose a softer hardness for the grinding tool. To ensure the precision of the geometric shape of the workpiece during form grinding, the hardness of the grinding tool can be moderately increased.
3. When grinding workpieces with poor heat transfer and repairing CNC blades, in order to avoid burns, quenching, and the hardness of the grinding tool should be softer.
4. The hardness of the grinding tool for fast grinding CNC end face cylindrical grinding machine should be softer, and the hardness of the grinding tool used for polishing should also be softer than that for wet grinding.
