External cylindrical grinder is an important machine tool for processing cylindrical, conical and other outer surfaces of workpieces. Its main components include:
1. Bed: The bed is the basic component of the grinder, usually made of cast iron, with sufficient rigidity and stability to support other components and withstand various forces during the grinding process.
2. Workbench: The workbench is divided into two layers and can move longitudinally along the bed rails to adjust the position and feed speed of the workpiece. The worktable can also rotate a specific angle for easy grinding of conical surfaces.
3. Headrest: Headrest is used to clamp workpieces and drive them to rotate, and is the main moving component in the grinding process. The headstock is equipped with a spindle and a variable speed mechanism, which can adjust the speed of the workpiece as needed.
4. Tailstock: The tailstock is used to support the other end of the workpiece, achieving precise positioning of the workpiece. The rear end of the tailstock sleeve is equipped with a spring that can adjust the clamping force on the workpiece.
5. Grinding wheel holder: The grinding wheel holder is a key component of the grinder, used to install and drive the grinding wheel for grinding motion. The grinding wheel holder can move laterally along the bed guide rail to adjust the grinding position and feed rate.
These components work together to enable the cylindrical grinder to efficiently and accurately process various cylindrical, conical, and other surface workpieces.
